How to use Hangar Desk

Hangar Desk is where Topgun Maintenance keeps everything about your airplane in one place: photos, what we found, what we fixed, parts, invoices, and what is coming due. Pick who you are.

For aircraft owners

Your airplane page

  1. Open the page. Go to topgunmaintenance.com/portal.html. Type your tail number and the PIN Julian texted you, then tap Log in.
  2. Save it to your phone. iPhone: tap the Share button, then Add to Home Screen. Android: tap the menu, then Add to Home screen. Now it opens like an app.
  3. Check "Needs your OK" first. If we find something that costs extra, it shows here with photos and a price. Nothing extra gets done without your OK.
  4. Approve or decline. You can also get a text with a link. Tap it, look at the photos and price, type your name, tap Approve or Decline. That is your signature on file.
  5. See the work. Each job shows what we found, what we did, parts installed with their paperwork, photos, and the invoice.
  6. See what is coming due. Annual, transponder, ELT battery, and other dates we track for your airplane. Green is fine, yellow and orange are coming up, red is due now.
Forgot your PIN? Tap "Forgot your PIN?" on the login page, or call or text Julian at (201) 452-1986.

Working a job

  1. Log in. Go to topgunmaintenance.com/crew.html. Type your first name. The first time, it asks you to pick a PIN, 4 to 8 numbers. Save the page to your home screen.
  2. Tap the airplane you are working on. The card at the top names the job and tells you what to do next.
  3. Clock in. Green button at the top. It tracks your hours for that airplane. Clock out before you leave, the page will remind you.
  4. Record the times. Tap Tach / Hobbs, type the numbers off the panel, tap Save times.
  5. Work the checklist. One section opens at a time. On each item tap Done, N/A (does not apply to this airplane), or Squawk. Finished items shrink to one line. "Go to next open item" jumps you ahead.
  6. Found something? Tap the orange + Squawk button. Write what you found, take photos, tap Save squawk. If two jobs are open it asks which one. Julian sees it right away and gets the owner's OK if it costs extra.
  7. Fixed something? Squawks tab, tap I fixed this, write exactly what you did, tap Save fix. It will not close without the fix written in, because it goes in the logbook.
  8. Installed a part? Tap Parts, then Add a part. Part number, where it came from, the paperwork type, and a photo of the 8130 or tag. Every part needs paperwork.
  9. Need a manual? Files tab. The manuals for that airplane are listed first. Open one and use search.
  10. Done for the day? Tap Clock out, then "Back to all aircraft". On a shared phone, tap Log out.
No signal in the hangar? Keep working. Everything saves on your phone and sends when you get signal back.
Only the IA signs off. Julian signs the checklist and the logbook. Do not start extra work the owner has not approved.
